How to study for the Digital Communications final exam.
The Digital Communications final VoCats exam MUST be taken by all students; there are NO exemptions. The exam will count as 25% of your final grade for this course (37.5% for first quarter grade; 37.5% for second quarter grade; and 25% for the final). The exam is a paper booklet with a bubble answer sheet. It is 100 multiple choice questions similar to the VoCats practice questions you studied all semester. By reviewing the study guides below and taking the on-line VoCats practice questions repeatedly, you will give yourself the best opportunity to do well. Click on a link to take you to a specific area of study. The first link is the study guides for all units except 2.0 Keyboarding which is not on the exam; the next links are practice quizzes and tests; the next link is a complete on-line curriculum guide that we studied; the same as all your handouts. Don't forget to review your own binder NOTES!!! And the last link is to my Quia homepage that has activities and practice tests.
Study Guides for ALL units covered. Each study guide summarizes key facts and points about what you should know for the final exam. 1.0 is Hardware/Software; 3.0 is Speech Recognition; 4.0 Alternative Input Devices; 5.0 is Word Processing and Business Documents; 6.0 is Spreadsheets; and 7.0 is Databases
This is my list of all the Hot Potatoes tests and sample VoCats test listed in unit order. This is a Microsoft Word 2003 file so you can download it. This sheet lets you keep track of your scores and will serve as an indicator of your weak and strong areas. You should strive for a minimum score of 85 on each test. Historically, a 78 or 79 will be proficient (passing) on the final exam but will depend on the entire state test results. If you don't know an answer, try to eliminate the ones that don't make sense. Guess if you have to since leaving an answer blank will count it as being wrong.
