Microsoft Office 2010: Word & PowerPoint and Excel & Access
This semester I will be using the Wiley Microsoft Official Academic Course (MOAC) to teach Microsoft Word and PowerPoint as well as Excel and Access. This course is 100% aligned with the Microsoft Certification Exam which is given at the end of each module. The objective is to have each student pass the certification exam and earn a certificate which is widely accepted as an indication of proficiency throughout the business world.
My classroom is a complete computer lab with 20 desktop PC's that utilize the Windows 7 operating system and Microsoft Office 2010 software suite. Students will learn how to use Microsoft Word 2010 which is the word processing and document software; Powerpoint for presentations; Excel for spreadsheet and financial analysis; and Access for database and records management.
The final exam for both courses is required by DPI to be taken by all students regardless of their grade and attendance. It consists of a 100 question multiple choice exam assessing all course material covered this entire semester. Final exams will count as 25% of a student's grade.
In class we use Quizlet to study new vocabulary words for each lesson. The link is here:

Each class also uses Quia for activities, review and quizzes/tests. This link to my Quia home page is here:

All classroom material is located on the South Stokes network drive to access at school. Material is also located on my Google Drive so students can access from home or even from mobile devices. Students turn in their work via email and/or uploading to their Google Drive and sharing their files with me.
