Select a company product or brand name to follow in class this semester. Check the news periodically to see how "company is using sport/event marketing to promote their products and their image. Which famous athletes or entertainers are endorsing their products?...or has anyone been dropped lately? What type of media is being used? You can source this information from the internet, TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, billboards, specialty promotions, etc. Stay current on this topic by posting updates. You may compose in Word, then copy it here. Have fun!

You will keep track of current events in the news about Lance Armstrong and the rumour that he will admit to taking steriods and performance enhancing drugs (PEDs). Your first entry should be background: who was Lance Armstrong; what is he famous for; why is he in the news lately? Copy and paste from YOUR journal you wrote using Microsoft Word.
Your second and subsequent posts should be updates from your journal periodically (or when Mr. Corlett instructs you to). You can be brief; just be sure to stay on topic. Using the internet, research one Olympics from the past (summer or winter). What year was it and what city? Summarize the major events or highlights of those Olympic Games (athletes or rivalries, records set, rules or political undertones, new technology used, etc.. and what made it a success or unique in history.
Describe the economic impact (short-term and long-term) your particular host city gained from hosting these games? Was it a benefit to the surrounding communities or not? Has the city thrived or not? (Use these concepts in your answer: development, population, economy/jobs, politics, etc.) |
