About Me
I am beginning my 6th year of teaching at South Stokes High School. I graduated from the University of Richmond earning a Bachelor of Science degree from nationally ranked A.H. Robins School of Business. After 25 years in business, I made the transition to teaching business education back in 2008 and am proud to be part of the Saura family. My former career included experience in banking and finance, sales and marketing, manufacturing and management, all which have given me the opportunity to draw on real-life experiences to teach my students many things about the business world.
I have been married to my wonderful wife Eileen for 25 years. She is also a teacher and teaches 5th grade in Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools.
My passion is baseball. We have three boys ages 19, 17 and 13 that all play. Eric is a freshman pitcher at Winston-Salem State University and is playing baseball for Coach Kevin Ritche. I've coached Little League and tournament baseball for over 14 years and haved coached at Kernersville Middle for six years. I also coach the varsity high school fall baseball team at East Forsyth High School. As a hobby, I enjoy playing chess and have taught an R&R class at South for the past three years and hope to be forming a Chess Club this year.
